Your dhow leaves Fumba Beach at 8am and doesn’t return until 4pm, with a mangrove lagoon in between that locals call a natural swimming pool — swimming into the flooded forest at high tide is unlike anything else on the island. From there, the Menai Bay sandbanks take over: snorkeling in clear water, fresh coconuts and local snacks in the shade, and roughly a coin-flip’s chance of spotting dolphins along the way.
