5 Days Marangu Route Kilimanjaro

Climbers call it the Coca-Cola Route, and for good reason — Marangu is the oldest, most established path up Kilimanjaro, with the mountain’s gentlest gradient and the only huts on the entire mountain. You’ll sleep in dormitory-style bunks at Mandara, Horombo, and Kibo Huts (60 beds at the first two, 120 at Horombo) instead of a tent, with mattresses and pillows provided — you just bring your own sleeping bag.

The huts have communal dining halls, and washroom facilities improve the lower you are on the mountain — flushing toilets and running water near the base, simpler long-drop facilities up at Kibo. For climbers who want Kilimanjaro without camping, this is the route.
