Mikumi is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park and one of the most accessible from Zanzibar — a short flight puts you in elephant, lion, giraffe, and hippo territory for two full days of game driving.

You’ll fly out at 2:30pm on Day 1, landing at Mikumi Airstrip by 3:30pm for a game drive en route to a Masai village visit, before settling into your lodge for the night. Day 2 is a full day in the park from breakfast at 6:10am, tracking elephant herds, giraffe, zebra, lion, and the elusive wild dog across Mikumi’s open plains, with lunch inside the park and a late drive to catch the sunset. Day 3 closes with one final early game drive from 6am to 7:30am before your flight back to Zanzibar.

Available by flight for speed or by boat and road for a more budget-friendly option, with a minimum of two travelers and 72 hours notice required.
