The Centre is even home to the rare Acherontia atropos, the African Death’s Head Hawk moth, a species most visitors have never seen anywhere.

Local staff walk you through each stage and help you spot species hiding in the foliage — genuinely engaging for kids and adults alike. It’s also a community conservation project: local farmers are trained in butterfly farming as an eco-friendly income source, so your visit supports real livelihoods on the island.
