From Nungwi and Kendwa on the north coast, or Paje and Jambiani for a sunrise ride on the southeast, you can take a short 15-20 minute experience ride if you just want the thrill, or go further: an hour-long safari out to Tumbatu Island, a snorkeling combo near Mnemba, or a sunset ride timed for the golden hour. Conditions are best from June to October and December to February, when the water stays calm.
